About éaloo

éaloo takes its name from the Irish word “éalu” - escape.

Take flight from the everyday into exploration, reimagining the familiar, shaping ideas, and refining form through a quiet sense of geometry.

Creating images that awaken the senses, until you find yourself on the edge of stepping back into the moment.

Each piece emerges from that process.

In Lobster Pots, the moment is not simply seen, it is experienced.

The swish of the morning tide, water clapping gently against the rocks. The soft rhythm of a boat shifting with the tide, the faint metallic tinkle of its rigging. The salt in the air. The touch of the early morning breeze on the skin - a constant in Donegal. And the light - always finding a way through - catching the surface of the sea, scattering into a quiet sparkle, even on the dullest mornings.

This is the essence of éaloo.

To create images that hold moments to be felt, held, and almost entered.

An escape from the everyday.
